Jimmy Volmink

Jimmy Volmink is a professor of global health and former dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Stellenbosch University.  He was the founding director of Cochrane South Africa and the founding director of Research & Analysis of the Global Health Council in the United States. In addition to a medical degree from the University of Cape Town, he holds an MPH degree from Harvard University and a DPhil in Epidemiology from the University of Oxford.  He has been widely recognised for his contributions to evidence-based medicine, as well as his contributions to promoting health and well-being of people from socially disadvantaged communities.
